How can I get rid of my arm flab?

“Arm flab” is the buildup of fat that many women and men get on the back of the arm. It covers any definition from your tricep muscle and hangs down in an unsightly manner. There is no special way to specifically get rid of this area of fat. Whether your problem area is in the arms, stomach or thighs, the solution is exactly the same.

Body Fat

Your body stores fat in many locations when you eat more calories than you burn. If you eat 2,500 calories per day but only burn 2,000 of them, your body will store those extra 500, mostly as fat. To get your body to burn that extra fat, you need to do the opposite: burn more calories than you eat. If you burn 2,500 calories per day but only eat 2,000, your body will have to draw on its fat stores for that extra energy.

Burn Body Fat

Over time, you’ll notice that fat from all over your body will start to go away. Unfortunately, you can’t choose where the fat comes off of (spot reducing). Your body might use the fat from your stomach for energy or from your arms, it isn’t up to you and there’s no way to control this. Doing exercises that target your triceps won’t have any effect on the fat in that area. The exercises that will help are those that burn a large amount of calories such as running, biking or playing a sport (volleyball, basketball, tennis). You shouldn’t ignore strength training.

Build Muscle

Building muscle will help speed up your metabolism which means you’ll burn more calories throughout the day. Diet is also very important if you want to get rid of your “arm flab” quickly. Eating foods that are high in sugar will promote fat storage. Stay away from junk such as candy, soda and other sweets.
