Method # 1: This is the most widely used method to figure out your target heart rate. Unfortunately, it isn't always accurate. Because it doesn't take into account your resting heart rate, actual target heart rates can greatly vary from person to person.

Method # 2: (Heart Rate Reserve Method - Karvonen Formula): This method takes into account your resting heart rate and is more accurate. You'll notice that this method will produce a higher target heart rate.
