How can I eat less during Thanksgiving and the holiday season?

During the holidays we have so much food to eat. It starts with the turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing and gravy, and ends with pies, brownies and cookies. Eating all this food can make us pretty fat, but there are some strategies you can use to enjoy these delicacies in a healthier way. You can begin by using a smaller plate. You can't fit as much food on one but finishing a small plate will have a similar psychological effect as finishing a bigger plate. Start by eating a salad. If you start filling up on low calorie foods, you'll have less room in your stomach for the high calorie ones. Avoid keeping the leftovers. Give them away to your guests or college kids. Eating holiday food during the actual holiday and for a week after it is a prescription for weight gain. By moderating the amount of food you eat, you can enjoy it and still come out with no regrets.
